On most standered 120volt wall plugs its a max of 15 amps or that works out to about 1800 watts now thats max. You dont want to use that much because your house wires will get hot and could catch fire, don't use more then 1500 watts on one outlet or breaker to be safe...I try not to go over 1200 watts most of the time...and use good quality extension cords if you have to use one at all1

oh and they say you can use a 1000 watts per bedroom in a house before it becomes obvious...so a 3 bedroom house 3000 watts...not sure how true that is tho

I have also heard the limit it to 1000 a circut rule.

helps a lot man thanks! I live with my mother and she runs a business out of the house too with all sorts of printers and she fuses glass with a kiln. the only other thing I have on in my room is the tiny air pump which powers the air stone in my filter on my 10 gallon fish tank. If 1800 is max then I'm probably gonna use max of 1200 with a new extension cord and one of these bad boys:

plug it directly into the outlet I'm using and then plug the extension chord into it. I'm planning on having 650w of light all together, 3 plants, all LST, and a few fans. I should be able to stay good.
