Hey i recently got a high power carbon filter,, the kind you fill with carbon yourself. If i run this in a 12x12 room with 12 plants will it contain the smell??

It should, according to what others say here.
12 INDICA plants are going to smell like 12 skunks pissed on the same rug!

Where did you buy your filter?

its a question if the filter is rated to a bigger volume then your room volume you filter with it. also are homemade and home filled filters in general less effective then those filled properly in factory.

as far as smell goes..i do nothing about it...like most of you i grow in my apt...where i live...where i get high..really high...i'm smokin weed in here all the time...it smells like weed all the time..if im in grow or not....so yes it will help the smell of the plants..it will do nothing to stop the smell of your own smoke..

oooooooo that smell can't you smell that smell""**_"+++&^^"#; hey man just spray lots of air freshner when someone comes to visit. and keep them the other side of the house from where the plants are. i heard the carbon filters are no good if you're growing skunk type indicas. it can be one hell of a problem

I can tell you about mine.. I have two scrubbers one 12 lb honeywell and 1 3 1/2lb in a 5x5 room. I am useing the 3 1/2lb scrubber as the exaust for the room and the other bigger one just hanging in the room. although I havent started budding yet, I have 7, 40" tall plants and 7 clones 2weeks old and no smell outside the room... I guess it depends how well the room is sealed off too. Good luck dude, its a prob for me too.

Yeah dude Im the same way, actually I grow in a walk in shower in my bathroom...I currently have 10 plants in their and a fan blowing air in my bathroom window to circulate fresh air...I say to hell with the smell myself but I understand some need to avoid it. Talk about a stealth grow!!!
