DIY odor filtering question
I found this design for creating an odor destroyer using a 5 gallon bucket, fan, soil moist and ona gel.
I could leave now and go to lowes, walmart or home depot looking for soil moist or ona gel but I'm sure they dont carry either product. The hardware stores in my area are shitty if your looking for growing products.
Are their any other sure fire products that I can substitute for Soil Moist and Ona Gel?

Shultz Moisture Plus is the same as Soil Moist, and is available at Home Depot. You can use any odor neutralizing solution in place of the ONA, although it may not work as well. Just use a slightly higher ratio of solution to water. I found that Fabreze also works pretty well with the design your using.
That being said, nothing works as well as a carbon scrubber.

ONA and a fabreeze type solutions will only mask the odor, not eliminate it. if you have some really stinky dank, it wont matter how much ona you have, your place is still gonna reek.. carbon filters connected to a nice intake fan is the best route..

Are those can fans a good buy?
Are they silent?
-
depending on your room size they are not too loud.. i mean you can hear them in the next room but its not like a jet taking off or anything. the bigger the fan the louder it is. if you have a small area i would say get a 4" like this and it should suffice with minimal noise...

My grow box is 5 feet wide, 3 feet tall and 1 1/2 feet deep. It used to be a wardrobe. Its totally closed.
I'm going to seperate it into two halves so I can have a flowering room on one side and a veg room on the other.
If I run ducting from both halves through one of these can fans would it eleminate any odors my plants may create?
I need something really quite. I'm trying to grow these plants stealthily and thats the main reason why their inside of this wardrobe.

i would think it would do the trick.. a lot better than the ona method. if you get the thing set up and there is too much noise, a lot of people will just build a box around the fan and insulate the heck outta it, in turn deadening any unwanted noise..

They have these In-line duct fans that I guess are supposed to move air between ducts. Could I pass on the Can Fan and just buy one of these?
I'm reading that the can fans are kinda noisy and their expensive too.

The in line duct fans have a hard time overcoming the restriction of the filter. Of course that depends on the density of the filter.
This DIY thread might help you out. It's meant for a pretty small grow, but it gave me the base idea for building a larger one using one of those in line duct fans.
