Default Worm Corpses or Alive Worms?
Hey, i have heard from a few different people that Worms can be put into the soil?

I have heard that the live worms give good air circulation? Is this true and is it recommended?

Also, dead Worms have nutrients in there body which release when placed in soil? Alos is it true and is it recommended?

Thanks Alot!

All true...

the worms dont actually put air in the soil.. but they aerate the soil as they "dig in the dirt"...

Plants also love WORM poop..

The ferilizers that you use to water/feed your plants may kill your womrs..

cheers

Worms eat partially decomposed organic material in the soil. There's very little for them to eat in common potting soil unless you have added some compost.

Worms eat and break down the complex organics into materials with more bioavailable nutrients, excreting them in their poo, called "castings." A dead worm isn't worth much to you.

When live worms burrow through soil, they create airspaces- until they run out of food.

When you water small pots of soil, you are very likely to drown your worms.

If you want to use worm castings as a fertiliser, you can buy the stuff from any garden shop. They will also sell you worm farms which allow you to drain a little bit of water through their soil- the runoff is called 'casting tea' and is a good liquid fertiliser.
