how long does the budding stage normally last ??
If you waited until pre-flowers to switch them over they should show with-in a week. If not they should be showing soon. Budding depends on the strain from 7 weeks up to 15 weeks.

LOL Miss mj, your journey is just beginning :hump:

To make it beautiful, you'll have to nurture them thru flowering 2-3 more months, then dry for a week and cure for another month. Thats when it all pays off.

But to answer your question, your girl will show sex then start forming bud sites all around her pistals. You should start seeing development in another week or two.

I myself just put my first grow into flower 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I was wondering the same thing as you. How long does it take to bud after putting the plants on 12/12. I am using fluorescent lighting in a grow tent. I have a small clip on fan blowing above the plants and a thermometer in there. You want to keep it between 75 and 85 degrees and the humidity down below 50. I have heard that it can take up to 7 weeks to bud. I have read many forums off of a lot of sights and this is the answer that I am getting. Be sure to feed your plants with a good budding liquid fertilizer you can mix with water each time you water. I bought mine at Home Depot in the Garden Shop. They are really looking good. Growing lots of new leaves and growing taller. Leaves are healthier than they have been before I put them into flower. Good luck.

Depends on the maturity of the plant, plant strain, stress. by 2 weeks you should see her starting to go into flower. unless you use "Bush-Master" then it will only take 4-7 days to make her go into flower. You don't really count the time it takes her to go into flower. ie. 8 week plant, 1-2 weeks to go into flower. so now you have 9-10 weeks she should be done, but that is just a rough gauge. use a pocket microscope, when you have about 75% amber trichromes, harvest. I've grown 16 week plants, you just have to be patient, and watch the trichromes, "When it's Done, It's Done" :)

75% amber?!?!! Nawww! Maybe for a pain killer but you are losing the high at that level.

......Anyway to the OP, sorry if it seems your thread is getting hijacked.
Yes where you see pistils forming in most places is where your buds will develop. Mostly and especially early on you'll see them start on the tops of the plant, but the pistils you see below is where bud formation will take place as well.
I would suggest by reading your post that if you want to do this, and do it with the most success especially early on is you need to develop patience. Patience can be a hard thing to get under control but it is also an essential part of the process.. From the time you see pistils forming you could be anywhere from 8 weeks to as long as 12 weeks or even longer than that. This is dependent on the type of plants you are growing and whether or not they are Indica ( faster finishing) or Sativia ( longer flowering time), many strains are a hybrid combination of both but you can plan on at least 9 weeks or so until you are getting to the end.
Keep us posted. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and welcome to RIU.

buds can take a long time to fill in, be patient, looks good keep it up, remember don't cut down even a week early or you will lose alot of weight and the good high, get a scope if you don't have one they are less then $15

I got nothing special... 1 200w CFL and some side lighting (also CFLs) and the only female plant I have is turning out good... 8 days into flower and starting to show white hairs... another week or 2 and should start to show some bud formation. Just let it keep growing, just make sure you pay attention to it's needs, as Pineappleman420 says, its just a plant!
