Here is a pic of some leaves from the tops of my plants. I added molasses to my resivour a few days ago for the second time, and I think I added too much. I emptied 1/2 of the tank and replaced it with fresh water. I have also been using baking soda to increase the PH when it is low. The leaves at on the lower branches are sagging too... And some have dried up... Any thoughts on what the problem is and what I can do to fix it??
Thanks!

Dude !!!! are you using hydro??
dont use molassas!!! My whole crop is in limbo and might not survive because I used it in a hydro setup I put 2 tsp per gallon and the whole thing got guncked up roots I flushed for many hours and for the past three days my plants still have not drank any water and the roots are fighting hard to stay viable. I just applied some Hygrozyme which was suggested to me. I suggest you do the same ASAP I hope mine make it good luck man. How much mollassas did you use per gallon? |

Im just a noob here so please excuse my ignorance but I have a question you guys .... why is molasses in small quantities good for the plant? In what circumstances would it be good to use? My plant are about 7 weeks old and only grown in Miracle Grow sotting soil. Would i want to use it on them at all?

it contains pure type sugars or somthing like that.
it gives you a yummy booger soup in hydro. can anyone tell me if I harvest my buds at 4 weeks of flower if they will still be a good smoke? I have to be prepared for the worst. |

Get some hygrozime, it does work but it is pricey. It will help decompose the molasses and any bacterial buildup that may have formed as a result. H202 would also be a good addition, but not too much with the hydrozime. If you want to add something to hydro that does what molasses does get Botanicare Sweet, but even that can't be used in aero well. Clean your whole setup, top to bottom and flush your plants VERY well. And no, 4 weeks of flower won't give you much.... Oh and never use baking soda to change PH, never a good idea.

4 weeks? Nah you're wasting your time, not good to smoke, the trichomes are well under-developed at that stage.

Quote:
Use molasses as a root feed by all means, but don't go crazy with it and bear in mind that when using Molasses its EC and Total dissolved salt content contributes to the overall EC of your nutrient feed - so if you don't have an EC meter be careful about the doseages of molasses you use in combination with your other nutrients. |
