Default Do calyx Grow Back?
I was trying to sex a plant today and accidentally man handled a couple of calyx that WERE on the same node. Both calyx fell off from my thumb rubbing up against them. Well, calyx form pistils and pistils turn into bud sites, so did I just lose a potential bud site or will they grow back? I think this plant is a female from the calyx formation too, so it would suck if I stressed it. Please advise.

Really? I thought that calyx formed pistils, and that bud flowered from these pistils being present. If there is no calyx there is no pistil, no pistil no bud. I guess I'm wrong. Can you please elaborate a bit more as to how this works?

Yes you stressed the plant, wich is bad but not the end of the world. And The calyx is the bud so you might have decreased the yield by a small amount but nothing to bad. your worst fear is to turn the plant hermaphrodite with too much stress. It should be just fine and resume growth on that node in a day or too.

So it was just some a couple calyx that you knocked off? I really wouldnt worry. Those calyxs are just preflowers, theres going to be a Ton of new growth still.

Are they flowering or still in veg??
