Default Cloning with Vermiculite
I consider my self a successful cloner but I am trying a new medium straight vermiculite. Any tips? It seems to hold the water well but when do I know when to water them? Will vermiculite keep moist for 10 days? I am most afraid of drowing them or letting them dry out.

I use styrofoam coffee cups. Holes punched in bottom of cup. Fill cup with vermiculite and run water slowly through cup to rinse. Place cup in small storage bin, pour ph'd water with a bit of peroxide in the bottom of storage bin. Poke hole in nice damp vermiculite for clone (use clone powder if you want) place clone in. Sometimes saran wrap over the top to keep some humidity in, but usually not. Just keep the water about 1/2 inch or so. Vermiculite will wick up the right amount for clone. Works for me.

thanks. thats pretty much what i did. so u keep it soaking in water. Thats my main concern getting it too wet or dry. I bottom feed it. I poked about 8 holes around the bottom of my 3 ounce cups and sat them in water it wicked it right up. But it really seems to hold water well.

It will only draw up what it needs so keep it soaking in water?

I have mine sitting right in water all the time. There seems to be more than enough O2 in the vermiculite to prevent rot.
