Hope all is well with you all.
I just got some fox farms ocean forest soil. Has nutrients in it. I also bough some biobizz grow nutes. My plants recently started coming to life and are showing 4 tiny leaves. (4th day) My question is when should I start liquid nutes? or should I not even start it at all because theres nutes in the soil already? any help would be appreciated. need to start a journal ahh |

Wait at least 4 weeks before trying to add anything and then only try 1/4 strength at first. Do not try seedlings in this soil as it is quite strong. Keep in mind you should be able to do the whole grow without adding any nutes to this soil. Does that help ?

You should be fine just growing in the soil. Just make sure it has a good nitrogen rating. That will be good for the veg stage. When you are ready to flower, use a very light solution of nutrients high in P and K. Don't overfeed the plant! Over-watering is another killer. If you pot/planter is heavy, don't water

Yes Really. I'm not talking about trying to do the whole grow in a tea cup, you would need sufficient quantity of soil, I would guess a 5 gallon bucket full of Fox Farms should be enough soil for a whole grow with one plant with a normal flowering time. You could probably do it with any other top quality soil also, Fox Farms is probably one of the stronger ones. The only reason to add nutes is that it is easier for the plants to get them thru the water than the soil. This helps promote faster growth that you see.

How many people do you know with houseplants ? How many of those houseplants have had the same soil in them for years ? Are they worried about the plants dying if they don't change the soil every three weeks ? |

are u growing from seed ? if so wait until the plant is about 5 in tall . i use oceanforest soil with clones. after i transplant the clone into the soil i water with a b vitamin or superthrive. i feed the next time i water. and i feed up until 2wks before i pull and i flush once a week before i pull. something good to do es start with a smaller pot until you see the roots come out the bottom and then transplant to a bigger pot.
