a friend told me to add some lemon juice to lower ph its about 8.2,im lookin for advice from someone whit expirience to tell me maybe how much should i use if this is ok

get a ph tester before messing about with lemon juice, aint no way its 8.2, infact i think ph only goes upto 8?

anyway, you dont need an expensive digital tester, just get some ph strip test paper, just as good.

8.2 is not that uncommon. My tap water is about 7.2 - 7.5

The higher the PH the LESS acidic the water is. Different water treatment plants use different things to treat the water in a particular area.

Yes you can use Lemon Juice.... you can also use Apple Cider Vinegar. I have used vinegar... but it's stinky. Personally I prefer the PH down from a hydro store.

i duplicated couse last two post i had to wait for 2 days for someone to reply and i dont have that time now my plants look fucked,8.2 is the ph of my tap water whitout any nutrient and the thing that i dont uderstand is how is it that all my other plants dont have a problem whit this,i never used a ph tester before couse everything was good,im growing lr/ak47 and they are twisting and drying,could it be that my tester is off i adjusted it in the buffer solution on 4.0 ph then i mesyred the water it got to 8.2 and then again i submerged it in the solution and it read 4.0 so is that proof that the reading is valid

are you that cheap to spend $10? Go to the store and buy some pH down.

man listen i live in a shity country u probably never heard of in europe i dont have no strips to mesure ph or ph down or up i ordered the meter from germany and i didnt get the buffer solution so niw it took me a week to recieve the solution and adjust the meter and my plants are falling apart,does somebody know when i add lemon juice how long can i use that water,

you live in a country with internet access, but you cant get ph strip paper, its like $1.50 a roll, african schools probably even have it.

Get your water and get a PH reading, next mix in the nutes ... mix well and take another PH reading. I let my meter sit in the water/nutes for 15-30 min. to make sure the reading is stable. Once you know what the PH is with the nutes (nutes tend to lower PH) then start adding SMALL amounts of lemon juice. Lemon juice is extremely acidic so a little should go a long way.

You can keep that water as long as it lasts.... just make sure you test the PH before each watering as PH tends to drift over a few days. Don't adjust the PH if it drifts a little.... only if it drifts way back up.
