I've got two super skunk under a a 250 w hps . They're clones. 19 Days old now. Using bio bizz nutes, and growing in soil. Anyway. I was wondering what would be the best way to start pruning back my plants? I've heard about "topping" as well. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, is it too late to top off my girls? It seems that there is a lot of conflicting information on the internet about pruning/cutting back your marijuana plants. Is there just a good rule of thumb to go by? I've also attached a few photos, any comments greatly appreciated. Cheers and happy buds! xp

First I'd lower your light to about 18 inches from tops of plants. they look like they are a bit stretched. Second, You definitely do not need to prune your plants, this stops the buds from developing. And to top all you gotta do is cut the newgrowth from the very tip of your main stalk. But i would recommend you get a grow or 2 under your belt before attempting any other growing techniques. Good luck with your grow. Keep us posted.

Right now, I see no reason to do any kind of pruning. There's definately 2 opinion's on this site about pruning- 1. do and 2. don't. Personally, i only trim leaves off if they're blockin light from gettin to the lower tops of the plant. And no it doesn't stop buds from developing, if done right(just removing neccessary leaves) it will INCREASE production because of the increased amount of light the budsites recieve, this being on a nice bushy plant with lots of leaves though. Urs won't need prunin for a while though. U'll notice the lower tops are in the dark when the lights are on, thats when u start takin away some of the shade the leaves are creating.
