| | You can do both. If you are only going to do one its considered more efficient to pull air away from the light. Many folks hook more than one light to the same duct work and use fans at each end. |

What fan do you have (specs, product name, air flow) to hook up to the air cooled reflector and how have you got it connected? |

| | ok i had a look of what i have. its upa - 125c
230 - 5ohz
0.02am
wt 40degrees - 1350 rpm
acustic fan it should be good enough for a 250 hid light, i dont think ineed to put it anywere else rather than on te floor, out of the suction area it could be better i think, and the out flow its very strong, proper fan.
so what ya think

I need to know the flow rate of the fan in cubic feet per minute or cubic metres per hour, also the dimensions of your growroom.
Also how have you got the fan connected to the air cooled hood? |

| | That duck work and the fan unit has to be hot if it's taking heat from the light and it is.
So to better use it try this. The less duck you have in that room the better. That stuff is acting like a heater for your grow room.
Think about the old boiler room heaters. The one's with the raditor. It use's steam and you have the same setup only it uses air.
Duct work needs to leave as soon as posible and all the rest goes outside the grow room.
To check this just feel all places on the duck work and fan area. If it hot it heating.
I hope this helps
