It is kind of funny. Everytime someone sees my grow room the say "what the hell is that". I would much rather use HID but the heat is a deal breaker for me. I would rather have a mediocre grow than no grow at all. I agree with Skunk that you should use some kind of supplemental lighting. I wasted $150 buying an LED light panel. It is the 50-watt version not the 14-watt. I soon found out that it sucked and oh well. So now I use the panel to supplement my 100 -watt LED. I have my 50 on the wall and move it around every couple of days to promote growth on the bottom branches. Surprisingly it works pretty well, maybe not a complete waste of 150 bucks.
