Got 4 plants going....2 from bag seeds and 2 are hindu kush. Went to 12/12 on Aug 19 after 6 weeks vegging. Got em under a 400w hps. The kush plants are loaded with trics and hairs just starting to turn color. Bag seed plants look fine except cant see many trics and no hairs that I can see have turned color. Im sure the bag seed neededs to go a few more weeks maybe more. Question is shouldnt their be more crystals visibled? Maybe the bitches had their nodes tied. Dang hate growing something worthess. Any sugestions?

depends on the strain, a sativa dominant strain will take longer to develop and will generally be taller than indicas
indica are shorter and take less long to develop

i once grew a 100% sativa bagsed that was pushing 7 and a half foot tall

it's a toss up when your growing bagseed some people get lucky and have great genetics my first and last try with bagseed was horrible, it took forever and the buds never got very good. I eventually cut them down after 12 weeks because I was so sick of wasting time and money on them. I grew them at the same time as purchased seeds just like you are and the purchased seeds did great, so I know it was just terrible genetics. Good luck though.

You may be right....but I kept the seeds cause I liked the smoke...so Ill let nature run its course i guess. If its crap ill make hash.

Like others have said, its all in the genetics. I have grown bag seed, seems most bagseed are from strains that do better outdoors under full sun.
Which is probably where they were grown before they became bagseed.
The best bet is to get some known seeds from one of the banks. You know what your getting and you know what to expect. Just about any seed you buy online is going to be worthwhile to to grow.
Sit down and think about what kind of end product you want to achieve. Do some research on the varieties your interested in.
Then place an order and Pray.

yeh i mean, the majority of the commercial and midd grade chronic that we all smoke comes from guerilla growers that just fuck around on a mass scale, and dont pluck males, and fuckin go for quantity, not quality. There is a REALLY strong chance that your seeds from the bag that your growin could have AWESOME genetics, but because it was taken care of so poorly by the Wal-Mart sized growers, it looked like shit. But in the hands of "Ma n Pop store" growers, we can take something bad n turn it into somethin stinky n good, although not nessecarily "Kind".

My bagseed personally, actually came from some pretty good middies, and even though the buds are tiny right now, they already look better than the bud i smoked to get the seeds. The green on the leaves is starting to turn neon around the nugs, and theyre just all around startin to look pretty fuckin good. But the downside is second guessing the quality constantly. When i was vegging, the plant fuckin STANK like fuckin good ass weed. Were talkin tommy chongs bathroom after a nice long shit session STANK, lol. But now that all of the plants energy has gone inward to producing flowers, it doesnt smell at all right now, n that made me think for a while that i had shitweed. But thats just me bein paranoid though, all i have to do is pinch the bud or brush it for two seconds and it stinks again, so hopefully i got the luck of the draw.


Sorry about the ramble, but basically the last sentence sums up what im tryin to say. Its always gonna be "The Luck Of the Draw" when it comes to bagseed. At least with Store-Bought Genetics, you know what your gettin, reguardless of the color, you know the potency is always gonna be right on, if you grow it right. Its basically yours to fuck up, lol. With bagseed, its hit n miss, you could be the bomb diggity jorge cervantes style grower, n have some skidmark shitseed, n u wont be able to do anything to make it any better, lol.
