I have a very important question I hope somebody can answer! lol
When judging the tricomb colors according to your liking.. Such as.. Cloudy = Head high Amber/Cloudy = Head & Body high Amber = Mostly body..... Do you judge this by an already trimmed nug? Or stright on the plant, because when you are looking on the plant all you can really get a good look of is the trim leaves. I'm just wondering exactly how to go about looking. Because when you look at it on the plant, it may look Amber/Cloudy.. but once you trim it down and look on the bud, it could still be clear. Someone please help! Thanks so much. A chart for what I'm speaking of below...

Wouldn't a 'Dutch Ma5ter' know this?
(but overall, yes, you are on track. Strains and condition will vary results)

Haha according to my name, I should know this.
But this is my first grow. Outdoor, Papaya from Nirvanna. But the name Dutch Ma5tar, represents me being the best blunt roller! haha nothing to do with my growing skills. But peep her out.. ![]() but idk if you guys are understanding.. I'm asking, if I should check the trim leaves with the scope to judge when its done, or the already cut bud. Either way she came out nice.. about one more day of drying. Then paper baggin for 12 hours. Then into the jar! I'll let you know how it is a month from now!

You use that chart to decide when so I don't know what the queston is.
The chart sums it all up. You look at the plant and go by when the you are supposed to harvest according to the strain. You look at the bud with a magnifying glass and if it matches your chart you know what to do. You can also take samples if you aren't sure. Take a bud one week, then one the next week and then harvest. Then you can compare them all after they are dry and you will know when to harvest the rest of the plants of the same strain next time. |

no we understand...
i think you just might be confused... you dont harvest and then wait for the trychs to change color... you wait for them to change color and then you harvest... the whole point of checking the trychs is to see how far along the plant is. They start out clear and then get cloudy and then start to turn amber. Most people recommend harvesting when they are around 20% amber but the longer the wait the less of a head high youre going to get. It becomes more of a body/couch lock high. regardless of all that...youre supposed to check them on the plant before you chop. not after. |

You can get a look at what is on the buds, you just need to separate the trim leaves a small amount at times. But if you look at the tric's on these leave's also they should be close to what is in those buds, if you are getting still seeing a lot of clear on the buds you have left after a trim you probably had a few more days to go and if you look at the leaves a bit harder you will probably find there is very little if any amber. If you are looking for a Heady effect and this happened just wait till the you see a few more amber's by this time you should have almost all cloudy.

the reason we dont understand is because you are asking a question that makes no sense. why are you interested in whether or not bud that has already been harvested is ready for harvest? the whole point of checking the trychs is to see if the plant is ready to harvest. you obviously wouldnt want to check a bud that has already been taken off the plant because it hasnt matured as much as the buds that are still left on. The only benefit youll be getting from checking a bud thats already harvested is to know what type of smoke youre going to get...
