Default Please read, I need advice.
I have made the choice to grow marijuana after about 2 months of studying and thinking am I willing to take the risk I have to decided yes.

I'm already nervous even posting on this thread, but here is my story and please give me advice.

I'm 30 years old and have a professional job, but under some rough circumstances I am no financially taking care of my family mother, father and sister.

I have a really close friend who as been growin for going on 7 years now, he grows hydro and has 680 plants in his basement great set up with I think 18 HPS 600 watt lights.

I bought some of the more famous books on growing and some DVD's. I'm decently versed in growing at this point.

So I have found house I will be buying even though some of the books have stated grow in a rented house because "absentee landlord are the best for gowing in rented homes".
I'm scared that if I rent my landlord could just show up even though I can create a 48 hour time notice before one could enter. Does anyone have advice on this?

I figured I should start small on my first harvest with 99 plants growing with a active hydro system on 15 HPS 600 watts plants to get my feet wet, then then next harvest will be closer the 500 plant area. Or would you recomend just starting big at around the 500 plant area, with more lights ect?

My friend does not steal his power and has vary high power bill that he splits between two different power meters on his propertie. He has a fake business and logo on this truck that he welds out of his shop to allow some room for why his bill is so high. I think he pays around $700 but dont quoat me, and has paid that for years now with no problems.

He recommended stealing the power, but what I have read in different areas I have found the most poeple say stealing it throws up more red flags.
But people that say this usually have way smaller grows then what I have planned.

I have seen from another friend on his set up how the power is stolen, and have picked a older house where the power goes in through the roof of the house can be spliced before the meter if I decide to steal but as of now I am planning on just paying.

Can anyone give me some advice, that has larger grow rooms. What could be the iffy area of my power bill being too high?

I will post with questions later,

Sincerly yours,

Mr. Oregon

stealing power, to me, is an invitation to trouble. you need a cover. i've heard pottery kilns use mega watts. setting-up a fake pottery shop in your garage could be an option.
if money is an issue, you can pull off a smaller starter crop, then use that money to upgrade. if that is not a problem, and you have good guidance, i would go big from the start. it's easier to set it all up at once.
good luck and grow happy.

Good idea, i will do the pottery idea over the welding. Abviously this is just for some added peace of mind, but do you think its enough to possible thwart the law if they are looking into your power bill? Either way it may as well be done.

I will also go big from the start, 500+ plants is going to be alot of work, but money to a cirtain extent is not a problem. I sold some real estate to fund this project.

What the street value of a pound in your area, I'm moving all mine through one guy at $3400 a P.

Thanks, Mr. Oregon

"I figured I should start small on my first harvest with 99 plants growing with a active hydro system on 15 HPS 600 watts plants to get my feet wet"

btw man...this is well funny. Starting "SMALL" with 99 plants and 15 600W HPS lights....I'm sorry mate, but that is NOT small! But I suppose compared to 500 plants it is!! Good luck though mate!
