timing is really about the point of where the the plant starts to flower, this it does after it really only receives less then 14h of light, after this it getting hard to clone/get it rooting.
so since the light hours in June are still long enough you to get clones even after going outdoors, put the cuttings into the fridge and you can keep them in a zip lock for up to 8 weeks even till you have to clone them
(and for all noobs going to fight me on this, check that with mogie, she put a post out about that issue a month ago
