When would be a good time to clone
if you want to plant outside june 1st
i would like the plants a manageable size but not over size

2-3 weeks before you decide to plant. It takes about 1-2 weeks for the clone to develop a strong enough root system to support itself. The 3rd week, harden off the clone. Then plant.

Thanks. Would it be beneficial to start aweek or two earlier than that to let the clone double its size to make sure it survives? How fast do they grow are they same as seed?

Yes to your first question. There is a difference in the timing if you are going to move them outdoors. The reason we switch light cycles is to force the plants into flowering. You can't do that outdoors so having a larger healthy plant will help. Besdies thats only six weeks away, clone them yesterday. VV

If you know your going to clone the plant, find out where you are goign to clone it now, and put some electrical tape over the spot, so that it gets no sunlight. This will greatly increase your chances of the clone rooting, and being healthier. : ) goodluck

Thanks. I was just worried about having to plant a 1foot tall plant. Which is about how big it would be if I planted seeds right now. Or is that what I need?

Hi Clam.... If you start your plant indoors and give it adequate lighting.... and get it 1 foot tall with 10 nodes, it WILL doing amaing outside..

IF IF IF you can transplant it without it going in shock. These plants are very durable and resilient... but for some reason transplanting can really fuck them up some times.... But it can be done and is a very good way to grow.. starting clones inside and then putting them OUTSIDE....

timing is really about the point of where the the plant starts to flower, this it does after it really only receives less then 14h of light, after this it getting hard to clone/get it rooting.

so since the light hours in June are still long enough you to get clones even after going outdoors, put the cuttings into the fridge and you can keep them in a zip lock for up to 8 weeks even till you have to clone them

(and for all noobs going to fight me on this, check that with mogie, she put a post out about that issue a month ago and from my point, IT WORKS)
