Default help on soil mixture

I posted in the indoor forum but think I'll get better results here, and I'm trying to plant soon!

I will be growing in soil. Right now I have a decent type potting soil, perlite, worm castings, and coconut coir. Can some people please help me and tell me what would be a good setup for the soil? Like what should be used and in what ratios? Thanks

well, I use a 5 gallon bucket, and fill the soil up.. add 2-3 big cups if perlite, and you should be good..

the reason people add coir and castings is to add food... just ass the potting soil and perlite, then water normally, and feed nutrients every 2 weeks or so...

when you give food to a soil plant, you are not feeding the plant directly.. you are replenishing whatever is devoid in the soil, and the plant takes what it needs...

so yeah... soil and perlite, water normally, feed with GOOD food every 2 weeks (or as directed by food bottle)... any good hydro shop should have some nice soil food.. I recommend Age Old

60% soil 10% perlite 10% castings and 20% coco works well or there about i dont weigh it perfctly but get close
you can use much more perlite if you like but i find that drainage is pretty good with the mix of perlite and coco

yeah I did about 60% soil 40% perlite last grow. I went to a local hydro shop to get some fox farm soil but they only had huge bags and was recommended the coir and worm castings, but I figure I'll add some regular soil and perlite as I still have some left from last grow.

I prefer light airy soil.

Stuff I use :
Soil
perlite (adds airiness)
vermiculite (adds ariness and water retention)
peat moss (adds ariness and water retention)
cocoir (adds ariness and water retention)

Kinda 50% soil, a mix of the rest. Haven't measured it, just gut feel

Now I add in blood meal for a veg mix, some dolomite lime, and pondering castings/guano for next round.

I skip the blood meal for the flowering mix.

Light airy soil will require more waterings. gives more opportunity to mix/tweak nute balance) also gives more opportunities to screw it up too)
Allows the roots to breathe well.

Pretty much. Current system, root clones. Toss into 1 gal grow bags. Let them veg for a while. When big enough for flowering, cut the bottom off the grow bag and put on top a 4 gal bucket. (bury the grow bag about 2 inches) Give the xplant about a week or so to take and stabilize and then off to 12/12.
