So tell me how fucked up this is.

MY LA Confidential seedling was found being sucked dry by a fungus gnat larvae. It may not survive.

I checked my new very hard to obtain seedling skywalker, and there was a fungus gnat in it.

NOW it is 11:40PM and im going to drive 25 miles away to my nearest 24/7 walmart... to pick up fucking sand.

How retarded is it that there is no other place to get sand at this hour? If our beaches weren't so toxic, I would drive there and get sand

needless to say, my hydro shop is getting a FUCKING EARFUL in the morning. I will cream their damned corn...

I had them once, I just let the soil dry completely in between waterings and they will dissapear, The sand is a good idea too and pest strips help as well.

My soil is dry down 2 bottom of the pot b4 i water
i dont know why they r still there

i have some sand in my back yard i guess i gonna try it

I'm talking about letting your soil completely dry in between waterings, not just the two top inches. Do not add sand from your backyard!! It will just add more pests to your grow room.

This problem happened to me on my first grow. I put a heavy layer of sand, about an inch or two on top of the soil. I guess this prevents them from being able to get out, which prevents the larvae from being able to get out, or some shit- but it works. After putting sand on top the the soil (at the time I used public playground sand, worked well strangely enough) the gnats disappeared, plant regained health, and a month later I was enjoying some trainwreck.

perlite also works pretty much the same way as the sand and it is alot more airated. that is what I use just add a couple of inches to the top of your medium in your pots. I always have a few flying around my plants no matter what but they do not get into my soil at all
