Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm looking to settle a debate between my friend and I. Any help would be greatly appreciated.


At what point does the plant mature enough to be considered an actual THC producing plant?

Does it happen during flowering or before?

Also, if you were to take a few of the smaller buds off a plant flowering 4 1/2 weeks, would you be able to have an idea of the potency of that particular bud?

edit : Changed vegging to flowering. the plant has been flowering for 4 1/2 weeks.


Also, are there some strains that finish very quickly? I'm not looking for one myself, but rather have a friend who is dealing with something similar.

the earliest that dealers would havest is 2 weeks prior to finishing, its over when the fat lady sings so leave it alone til its ready.wait for the amber trychs.

4 weeks flower will give some idea of potency,not 4 weeks veg.PIC IN MY AVATAR IS ABOUT 4 WEEKS I BROKE A BRANCH BY ACCIDENT AND DRIED IT AND GOT VERY TOASTED ITS JUICY FRUIT AND TASTE LIKE THE GUM.

Bud from a 4.5 weeks into flowering plant may or may not have some potency to it, it depends on the plant. You could try a tiny bit of the bud, like a bowl's worth, and it you like it you could pinch off a little bit more from the plant. It would be best, however, to be patient.
