I feel it is to prevent root rot .. It adds 02 to the water and keeps it moving .. I use a small one that I got in wal-mart

yes at the pet store/ aquarium department.

small , medium and large. you will also find bubble curtains.

green colored stones tend too be a cheap make and after time get clogged and fall apart. the ligh/dark blue stones work real well.

bubble curtains are a rubber like tube with thousands of small micro holes. these produce a huge stream/curtain of bubbles. being a tube they can also be shaped. they come pre weighted or with weighted leg clips/suckers

as too size it depends on the litre per hour of your pump. i would go a small/medium size for an aerogarden they dont look very big.

yep pete store is fine .. I use a real small one ..its like a ball

I use a disc that I got with my Bubble system, but the ones at the pet store work just as good.
