i need to know what kind of cfl i need to buy for flowering. the watts, lumens, maybe the brand. please help. thank you

home depot has 42 watt cfls that put out 150watts of light, the more the better, keep em close to the plant though, the light diminishes quickly. N.Vision green pack around $10

The incandescent equivalent doesn't mean shit! If a bulb is 23 watts it's 23 watts not 100watts.
You need soft white cfl's for flowering and daylight for vegging.

Hold on it's 420 everyones getting real high right now.....how big are your plant(s) and your growroom size I think your post is confusing people what did ya run when you veg it/them? I'm running 4-42 watt soft white on top and 7-26 watt around the plant...one plant it's something I'm trying, my HPS works great..but with enough of these things they'll keep up way better than I thought. my test plant is big so, you may get by with less but I'm at three weeks and shes taking off great lots of buds and triches everywhere. soft white is good for budding more info will help people help you more

well i bought softwhite(4) they are 100 watts and 1600 lumens. is that enough for one plant she is about 2 1/2 weeks into flowering. she was outdoors but her yiel is slowing own due to the lack of sun since it has been raining alot. thanks guys. keep the help coming

i keep seeing people posting about 6500k lights and what not. mine are only 1600 lumens. is that what they are talking about?

the daylights are for veg (from GE they come in a package with blue labeling) and the soft whites for flower, as close the plat as possible. Get some wind goin in there and you should be able to put more lights without worrying about the heat. If you get one of each, and plug them in next to eachother, you should be able to tell wich is daylight and which is soft white. The daylight is more blue, soft white more red. If you cant find the specific labling of "soft" or "daylight", i suggest doing what I just said. NOTHING smaller than 23 watts, I went with 3 45's ( i think it was, the really fucking big ones) and seh came out like a champ. Heat is the biggest problem with those though, once they're all stacked around eachother, PC fans work great.

Ive used cfl's a couple times, small, personal grows, they're great for that. Anything big time though, look to the outdoors for the best effect.

lumens and kelvin are teo different things. kelvin is color temperature and I think lumens are the light output

so how can i find out how many kelvins my bulbs have?
