Dilemma in my grow cabinet build

Ok here is the plan.

I already have my flowering box designed. I will be using a aquamist type system for flowering with a 250W HPS lighting system.

I plan on using the SOG (sea of green) method.

I ordered some seeds already, and this is where I am getting confused. Space is kind of limited for another year or so until we get into a bigger house.

I don't really have enough room to keep huge mother plants for cloning around. nor can i afford ordering seeds constantly.

I ordered all feminized seeds but understand they arent guaranteed to be female plants. So I will have to flower to determine my females the first time around.

What do I do to keep clones on hand?

After I get my original plants flowering and get rid of any males, and clone one of the females. Should I just make new clones everytime? Is doing so ok?

Does anyone reply here anymore?

Hi I have limited space myself and have been cloninig of clones for nearly a year with no drop in stone, if anything its getting better(although i think thats more down to me learning from mistakes). Im not sure what the experienced growers will say but it has worked for me.

Build or buy a small cabinet to house a mother plant to take clones off of.. i'm a little confused on your ? here... but you say you dont have the room yet... you can always pick up a small cabinet or build your own with some cfls inside.. (cfls.. all you really need for a mother plant. and take your clones off that there's nothing you can really do to dramatically slow down the growth rate of a clone without killing it.

do the clamshell rubermade thing with some cfls ! you could get some nice moms going in one of those setups!

For the sex problem, you can take clones off of EARLY-flowering plants [1-3 weeks] if you HAVE to. Flower a set just long enough to sex, then cut clones off the females and go to town.

You could do what i do. You don't have to have a permanent mommy to do a micro-SOG. Build a small clone chamber [mine's a speaker, only 6"x12"x14". PC's work well too] big enough to house enough clones. Start however many plants you need in your main cabinet, and after about a week of flower, the sex will show. As soon as sex shows, cut no more than 2-3 clones per plant, and cut a few extra. At the next cycle, put the clones in flower, leaving the extra's to be temporary mommies. When its time to cut clones again, cut from those clones. But when the moms are too big for your box, put them into flower to have an extra big harvest every few weeks.

But how big is this SOG? Mines a 6 plant ScrOG, with 2 plants per 3 week cycle. If its as small as mine, you won't need to produce too many clones...
