I was shredding up my mids the other day and found a few seeds, so I threw them in a cup full of my room mate's miracle grow and BAM they're about 4-6" tall, six days later. I planted 4, but threw one away when I transplanted them to their own individual pots because one of them didn't sprout at all.
So I've got 3, 6" plants now, I'll post a picture ASAP. I leave them on my window sill, but want to move them indoors. I have the perfect space for growing (a cozy closet that is used for nothing but growing now), I bought a $20 bag of Miracle Grow and I don't know where to go from here. I have about $200 to spend on lighting/whatever else I need. How would you guys spend this money? Is this enough? I COULD get more, but this is a hobby, I don't want to get TOO into it (I may wind up throwing them out if they cause me TOO much stress).. I planted seeds from some pretty average mid-grade (Massachusetts) mj, does this mean my plant will be nothing special, or is there oppurtunity for it to grow into a mean plant if I care for it properly? Basically, I need to know where to go from here. But I REALLY need to know what I should buy for lighting, and if anyone knows a shop in MA that sells good supplies? Can someone tell me EXACTLY what to get (model number prefferably)? Keep in mind I'm growing 3 plants and will never have any more than that growing- I actually plan on just keeping one to focus on after they mature enough to tell their gender (if I get more than one female, I'll give it to a friend). Thanks for the help! And PS- I did a search for "closet" "growing" and "guide" in misc formats, and found nothing worth anything, if someone can just give me a URL for a guide instead of treading common grounds, that'd be killer. Thanks!!! |

Hey KID...
CFL lighting... COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHTS Home Depot sells 150 watt CFLs for $10... You should get four of these lights NOW.. and keep them as close as possible to your plants withot touching them..less than 1 inch.. Also invest in a timer and a PH test kit. The ph test kit you need looks like this.. http://www.plantitearth.com/store/pr...d=304&catid=65 It is very very easy to use and it will make the difference between success and failure!! iloveyou |

he's right...cfls are the way to go...i'm not sure if he means 150watt or 150watt replacements (which are actually about 40watt, maybe a lil less), either way yea...keep them about 3-4" from ur plants or they might burn...i had some burnage on my last batch cuz I didn't move the lights farther away for about a week...CFLs CFLs CFLs = cheap, easy, productive
