Question Clone from a bulb?

Ok so at my work there is a bunch is very nice plants, not sure of the names. They live all winter under 8' of snow, then come back in the summer to grow nice tropical looking flowers. I think they are a bulb, and digging them up is not a option.

So the question is can I take a clipping from them and clone them?
Or do I have to get at the bulb and cut some of it off?

Any links?...

I would love to have some nice flowering plants that are low maintenance and can survive a few feet of snow.

I may take some picks tonight for some plant ID's

Thanks for the help, and sorry if this is a ridiculous question.

Will I have to get at the bulb?

Thanks for looking

in the winter time when the bulb is dormant you dig it up and replant this could be a problem buried in snow though, good luck.

Thing is, the business owner might not be to happy if I dig up their plants......
That is why a clone would be ideal, plus I would like to get all the color varieties with out going to the store and buying them.

Thanks again

dont know exactly what kind of flower that is, but alot of daylilies (like the one in my pic) will make a little knub under that little flap of leaf (circled)..
that is a root knub, snip underneath and stick in moist soil... if nothing else, just snip and hope for the best... my wife had some type of flower that she wanted to try to root; i swore it wouldnt work, but i put it in the rooting bed and took care of it for her.... much to my suprise, it stayed alive, and eventually sprouted a node with new growth, which i am rooting now... or look down by the ground and see if there is any stem material in the dirt that you could try to root... good luck
