got some seeds. beautiful flowers. reminds me of little shop of horrors. "feed me seymore, feed me."

but i have other THINGS in my yard. i'm legal in cali for the OTHER things but i don't want unwanted attetion. i'm not looking to harvest any product i just want to grow some flowers.

the persian whites are beautiful, of course i got the blues, which are just as nice.

i overwintered part of my small plot of p. somni., some couldn't handle the deep freezes we had so put out more seed last month and covered with a tent. lots and lots of sprouts.

ignorance is bliss with these flowers...but i'm sure you've done your reading.

remember me i reccomended you to get seeds. damm you already started growing. i just started mine about 2 weeks ago as of now i have 100-200 poppie plants spouted i have 25 growing inside. i cant wait i think they look awsome.


my hungarian blues look killer.

its not like theyre illegal. haha

there is much mis-information about these flowers but the general consensus (and my experience in first grow) is as follows:

likes well drained soil, does not like clay. very sandy soil is also not good. plant just after you till.
must have full sun for most of the day.
prefers alkaline soil, 6.7-7.5.
keep soil moist after sowing and during first 2-3 inches.
does not tolerate transplanting well at any stage. i did it just to see for myself and the plant did survive but had a tough time getting healthy again.


seeds can be sown by watering in or lightly raking (better if you have a lot of birds, helps hide them).
low rate of 34-0-0 after 1rst month of growth.
they seem to like company, hold off on initial thinning until they're about 4-5 inches.
