great plant. ive grown it. never used it for culinary though. very hardy. idk what the flower looks like either. if it flowers...would you take a pic?
Lemon V, it's the best herb ever. Damn, that smell is amazing. It's like natures lemon drop in leaf form.lv.JPG
It works like a vaporizer. We'll get stoned through the vents on the way there.
you make pesto with lemon verbena? ive always wanted to try growing this. i will pick up some seeds this week since i found a container i can plant them in.
Yeah. It's awesome. It is a perennial in this climate and it produces a lot of foliage. Even in a cold climate it produces enough to make it worth your time. The pesto thing is a good way to use up the goods when cutting it back. Freeze the pesto and it will keep for a long time.
I don't know why Lemon V is not a more common herb. I really can't think of an herb i appreciate more. I've got friends asking for it every time they come over. From the horticulture aspect... easy to grow, drought resistant and a natural pest deterrent.

i have noticed it is not common. i have looked at multiple places and cannot find seeds. is it from cutting only?
Not sure. They are around about 50% of the time at my local nursery. Plant form, not see-ds.

I saw this thread a few days ago, can you give me any tips for growing it indoors? I want to get it in my veg room!
great herb for making tea. also, crumble up some leaves and drop into bath water.
the flowers smell AMAZING.... (danny, i know i have some shots -- there might be some in the beginning of my garden thread)
from my understanding, they take a long time to grow from seed -- hence why you most commonly find them in seedling form at the store. (mine flowered but didn't seed....)
edit: aha! i was right: LV flowers - posts #2 and 4: kitty's flower garden part 2
