    high heat (higher than they like) and inconsistent watering.

    Sounds good but remember overwater will split the skins.
    Tuff skin is usually on small underfed tomato.

    Not always the cause for split, I have seen them split when they are ripe and watered instead of picked/harvested.

    always peel of the beans present in the tomatoes before eating them as they cause many problems of ulcers and stone problems
