My dad called me out and said what is this? and pointed to his tomato plant and this is what I saw!

I took it off the tomato plant and put him on the neighbors tree.
What is it? I have never seen any caterpillar looking thing that big in my life!
You can see how big it is when it is next to my finger!
theres an organic type pesticide for catapillars called b.t. . was found in old rum distillery in carribean, pretty cool story if you look it up...peace

So how big are these things when hatched? It couldn't have just appeared out of no where. I mean to get that freakin huge wouldn't it have to have been there for a long time?

these guys will decapitate your tomato plants overnight. Do not allow them any mercy and find the younger ones on your stems and kill them asap!

that's a tomato horn worm and they will eat the fuck out of some tomatoes. they are huge and bled in so well. I dont notice them until i start to see the damage then i look close. The damage is leafless stems and the stems eaten till they are about 1/4 inch in thickness. Just looks like a dead stubby branch.
