Mint Plant Leafs Question
Hi all. I was reading that some people's mint plants have gotten smaller leafs even though when they first got them the leafs were big. Why and What causes mint plant leafs that use to be big on that plant to become small?
Edit...
I also forgot to ask how often should her plants be fed? ie once a week, Once every 2 or 3 days...

What kind of mint?
I'm not sure whats going on with the leafs getting smaller.... do you mean that pre-existing leafs are like shrinking? Or do you mean the new leafs are smaller than the older leafs?
What is she feeding her mint? 2-3 days would definitely be too frequent, I dont think once a week would do any harm but i also don't think its quite necessary. I havnt fed my potted horse mint plant for about 3 or 4 weeks and it's growing very well, very dark green foliage.

Well from what I've read it was Chocolate mint, Spearmint, Peppermint.

New leafs that are smaller. I have my mint plants growing indoors under 2x 26w 6500k CFL lights and they are getting 17 hours of light every day

Not she but its a question about feeding. I haven't given my mint plants a single feeding since I go it about 2 or 3 months ago. I've read once a month and some once every 2 weeks.

new plant leaves are smaller. i know if a plant that requires a bit more sun and you stick it in shade that will force the leaves to be bigger...larger surface area = more area to photosynthesize to make up for lack of solar energy it receives. conversely if you take a plant that likes a bit of shade and plant it in sun the leaves will be smaller for the same reason.
