Lemme see.....................I could plant some mums and get them all healthy and stuff. Then do a lot of reading in books on organic chemistry and build my own chem lab in my non-existant basement and bottle the stuff up. OR! I could just spemd about $10.00 and go buy some. HMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm...................?

Shit ..that's no fun. You have to experiment.
Have a great one. Advice is for folks with a legal grow and worth what you paid for it.

hmmm im a lot more advanced than that and it doesnt take a lab for simple extractions.....making shit like GA or NAA requires a lab. and spend 10$ on some less than 1% solution fuck that i may as well cut my 10 bucks into little pieces and pay your mom for her services.

no but seriously people, if anybody has found some good extraction articles let me know. id rather make my own shit in my non existant basement, what a chump, you make me laugh.

marigolds are an excellent pesticide, its a secret method passed down by my family, i companion grow with them and they do very well as a pesticide when the flowers are sprinkled over your top soil or leaves, or added to your foliar spray, i have heard of boiling the flowers as a way to extract pyrethrum but i have not tried it. they flower under 14 hours of light as well as 12, im not sure about any higher then that but im sure they do, they're really easy to clone as well.
im on riu mostly during the outdoor season, so PM to get in contact, posts could take longer for a response but ill check in when i can.

you can extract it with water but lower temps are better since it will degrade. from what im told your supposed to steep in warm/semi hot water.
thats good info about the marigolds. do you know what is in them? or an extraction method for them?(if you just do water thats fine, its a good method i just want concentration, im gonna use tannic acid and mineral oils to help preserve it)

of and plus rep for sure.

may give it a try, as for another extraction method im not too sure, i bet some experienced gardeners could answer that one, it always helps to talk to people on the forums where they dont grow weed, those people have some very valuable information.
but i honestly just throw it into my spritzer bottle with a few drops of canola oil to soak up the pyrethrum, and some diced garlic. come flower time, i only use the canola on fan leaves and the outsides of my pots(it works as somewhat of fly paper, but its safe for plants, not so sure about buds but im sure a small concentration wouldnt hurt if you gave them a good spray with normal water after it), and a small amount of neem mixed in with the marigold flowers, i have used garlic but i gave them a good spray afterwards. the mint plant is also good as an organicide and works well when companion growing, i may try it with a garlic plant too.
also i occasionally boil peppers and strain it with cheese cloth then add that to my foliar spray, only in the event i get an infestation.

i grabbed some mint for companion growing and will be getting some rhizotonic basil going again. i though about garlic hot pepper and several other things but i dont like messing with my smells or tatses.

the whole reason im after another extraction methods is so i can make a pyrethrum spay with only water and pyrethrum(and maybe some residue from extraction) for late flower so it will decay quickly and wash away b4 harvest or even on the day of harvest. the main problem with pyrethrin sprays you buy is the oils and oils really shouldn't be used after mid flower. oils are great! but the test isnt, given that it did not decay completely b4 harvest.

the whole smell thing goes away with a good spray of regular water, i grow outdoor and i sometimes spray this before a good rain so it all washes away, best thing you can do is spray the fan leaves and top soil and hope for the best, in my experiences neem, pyrethrum and mint dont affect the smell or taste of the buds, pepper and garlic however may leave some smell, but not if you give them a good spray after. make sure you hit the bottoms of the leaves especially when spraying this stuff. i agree though, oils arent the best for flower, why i try not to use canola on the buds after the 3rd week.

As far as companion plants go i know rosemary keeps mites away but the extracts suck at killing them. Azadiractin is best to get rid of em. Idk about mums but my mother has some and cant keep em alive, so im lookin into it
