marigolds are an excellent pesticide, its a secret method passed down by my family, i companion grow with them and they do very well as a pesticide when the flowers are sprinkled over your top soil or leaves, or added to your foliar spray, i have heard of boiling the flowers as a way to extract pyrethrum but i have not tried it. they flower under 14 hours of light as well as 12, im not sure about any higher then that but im sure they do, they're really easy to clone as well.
