I get such weird looks when i say i am growing HYDROPONIC WATERMELON.

Just in the middle of a flush here, had them on 1/4 strength, now just flushed them to full strength.

using house and garden A+B, "multi zyme" enzymes, superthrive, seasol seaweed extract.

Don't really care about PH as i know the amount i mix to get the right PH and the watermelons going very well. It just rained which sorta flooded the closest growbed, but i just drain the res a wee bit and it's all good.

I always get such weird looks when i say i am growing watermelon, people go right.... "WATERMELON".. and i go yeah mate, i dont know what you're talking about but yeah just watermelon.

yeah yeah lawn needs a top dress and it gets splashed with nutes on occasion, especially teh other day when res overflowed.

About flushing, you can see the little tap i've put on there, that is a god send for flushing and makes it faster and cleaner by having the pump do the work. then when it gets really low i disconnect the grow beds, give everything a big clean,etc.

Next flush is going to be a nutrient switch to canna A+B, cannazyme, rhizotonic, superthrive, seasol as i find canna is easier to get and maintain a correct PH.

lol, i dont blame em. this whole post up till the pic i was trying to figure out if you were joking or not. thats cool though that you are growing watermelon hydroponically. personally i would of thought watermelon would be pretty difficult.

im not gana lie iv always secretly wanted to try this with nuts and see how big i could get that sucker so i could eat it omg i love watermellon.

hmhh, i wonder if you could beat these ones. some of them are incredible although i wont lie i was pretty disappointed when i looked up largest watermelon ever grown and it comes out to something like 265 lbs, i was hoping for something more like the giant pumpkins you see or hear about occasionally.

It's already flowering. Had problems with the pot that you see the watermelon is not quite as big in, the retic lines were getting blocked and i had to get a hose and blast high pressure water through them to clear em out. Not getting much pest problems...yet. every other year in soil a snail manages to devour the entire plant over night. I'm preparing in advance for this attack. btw i am mates with a farmer who grew hte biggest pumpkin in my state, i think about 250KG it weighed up to. had to be forklifted on a pallet around the place. the same guy also grows pears that are bigger than peoples heads lol, he does not water or fertilize his pear trees cause year in year out they produce giant sweet pears. I've got another idea for this hydro, im thinking about using filtered water in the last few weeks when i've got watermelon on it, maybe last week or two. U should put a sqaure cage around one of them and grow ur self a sqaure watermelow or whatever shape you desire. Looks real cool.

damn quebec, they grew a pumpkin bigger than the 2010 1810 lb one grown in my home state in 2011 when a farmer grew a 1818 lb one.
this page might not seem to make alot of sense at first since it seems like they are saying multiple ones were the world record but the key thing is that the parts they posted were from that time period unedited to reflect the change.

That is an excellent idea, i'd love to try that. I'm guessing with three watermelon plants per pot i should be able to encase at least one of them.

Has anybody got any other suggestions or ideas?

i just think you get props for growing it in hydro like that. i guess it will produce one? but not two? idk. what do you think?

Canna A+B Cannazym (2.5Ml/L), rhizotonic (forget the dilution rate).

growth has been utterly explosive, i count about 15-20 flowers on all 6 plants so far.


It is christmas here so i'll get some photos of the growth tomorrow.

Also i have some photos of some fine marijuana that "I found on the internet". hahahaha. In soil of course. I'll start another thread for that however.

I am trying to grow some indoor watermelons too! Hydro DWC!
