So, I'm taking a plant biology course and I need something to write and/or do a project on. The teacher is giving us ample room and stated "just anything related to plant". Some prior examples were a poster board about "why you should go green?" Another was an engraved piece us wood, made to look like a plant cell.

My only idea so far was maybe writing a paper about ethanol, e-85 vehicles and everything that comes along with that (ie. production, benefits, outlook, etc.)

I'm really not sure if I want to do that.

Any ideas? What would you write about or do a project on? All ideas are welcomed (except for blatantly ignorant ones).

yea, do one on why marijuana is so damn delicious

I know this thread is old, but you could do a couple things:

1) come up with a way to extract THC from the like 1500 other elements in weed that would be practle to the home enthusiast without a lab.

I once heard you could boil stems, seeds and bud in everclear to produce a tar like substance that can be put onto things such as cig's and smoked...
Dangerious if you ask me, think you would have to suspend a bottle in boiling water and allow the bottle to breath..with periodic reintroduction of everclear
due to extreme evaporation..crazy stuff, but intresting

OR

2) Do a paper on the effects on a plants root growth when grafted with other plants. I thought I heard sombody once say that citrus plants grafted usually
take on the root charactoristics (sp) of all plants involved.
