so you just dip it in the root hormone and stick it in the dirt, not scraping any hormone off the base....?

umm....soil is harder to get new roots to sprout from what i hear, i would use rockwool and some type of controlled enviroment that keeps the humidity up.

actually soil is easier.. takes longer, but I have had 100$ success in soil, and around 40% success in rockwool, with and without a humidity dome.

Olivias Cloning Gel + Rapid Rooter root cubes + humidity dome = ???????? i'm not sure yet, but this is how i plan on doing my next clones, i've used root cubes for starting seeds in the past, there alot like rock wool there just made out of treebark.. and there more of a spunge substance... there suposto be pretty good for cloneing, work great for seed starting and have benifishial microbes that live in them, to help things along, i havent ever used rock wool, but i've always heard about ph probs with it, so back in the day i went the root cube rout, just some food for thought

you really dont need it, i havent tried with tomatoes, but ive put both weed and basil cuttings in plain water and they rooted in a week and a half (basil was a bit quicker)

Default Tomatoes

Around here the success secret is root temp. Nursery owners do not put plants out if the night time ambient temperature is 50 deg f or lower. Cloning is the same thing; root temp is the most critical element.
