Well I never intentionally tried to grow a Palm Tree but I had a big one in the backyard one time down by the coast. It was full of giant cock roaches. I would chunk that MG shit. I would only use MG if I was trying to kill something on purpose. Their crappy Pearlite with the built in plant food cold blooded murdered 5 of my precious girly girls. Tried to kill them in infancy then finally got the job done just prior to harvest. I would like to give the genius who invented that stuff a severe tongue lashing. Try feeding the tree something made by Peter's or Scot's. Also start doing some foliar feeding with compost tea below 75 degrees F. Hope this helps.

This ^

I have a bunch of Sago's in the backyard and I never feed them anything yet they do fine. If you're intent on feeding yours, go with a compost tea as mentioned above. Worm castings/cow manure/molasses is what I cook with.

Like Orange trees, they only like to be fed at certain times of the year. You can buy Palm fertilizer at Home Depot. Just make sure you have good drainage. There are many kinds of palms with very different preferences. You'll need to know which you have.

Damn MG is pretty popular amongst many growers, strange you had such terrible luck Bigwheel.

Ok so i do have the palm in 90percent sand and 10percent soil figuring i see palms on islands and whatnot where there is little to no dirty obviously.

Ok so Satch, i have some worm castings. Do i just soak it in room temp. water or should i boil the water? how long should i let it soak? OR should i just add some worm castings to the soil mix?

I have never seen palm fertilizer but ima look super hard next time.

IT DOES get pretty chilly at night, probably in the high 60's low 70's. Would it be petter off indoors under 24 hour cfl lighting?

Thanks for the help bros and gents.

Just read a few threads on the organics forum about making compost tea, there is no shortage of threads on it. The way I do it, is take a gallon of rain water and set it out in the sun. Then I add about a tablespoon of worm castings, tablespoon of cow manure, and molasses. It cooks in the sun and the microbes multiply. This works even better if you have an aquarium airstone to keep the water bubbling. This jump starts just about anything you could possibly be growing. The worse the stuff looks, the more your plants will love it.

Is it the new leaves or the old leaves that are suffering? Also is it in a container?
