can i use potting soil to start seeds . onions radishes green peppers.???


my buddy just dug up a spot in his yard and spread fertilizer on it so i want to start the seedlings then move them to the garden when they get going.

Peat/Perlite, use neutral stuff for babies.

i started this years crops in compost and soil left over from my last weed grow.

i use a smallish tray fill too around 3/4 full. then layout seeds. after i take compost and rub between my hands too break it up and leave a nice fine covering over seedlings.

i have used compost, potting soil, hanging basket mulch, good old garden dirt. all worked fairly well.

personaly if it is all you have too hand use it.

You gotta be careful when starting seeds in soil. If it stays too wet for a few days in a row they can get "damping off". The stem will collapse just above the soil line and there's nothing you can do for it. Best to sterilize it if possible and keep it just moist but not wet.

i've started with seedlings multiple tymes...
i've had to use gravel/clay.. no prob with seedlings.
but it was first grow so i had them at 12/12 and it was never steady timing.. (i was dumb)
low yeild.... very disapointing. then ever since i used pottin mix(14-14-14) and they look amazing...
i always have the erigation wholes at the bottom... so there is neva floodage..
and thats key to growing A grade bud. (remember!!! WEED is a WEED... it multiplies in the
wild with the soil available... nothing added!!!!!)
