i have just begun to bonsai a japonese loquat tree. it' not the usual bonsai choise because of it's large leaves but i like the contrast of trunk size to leaf size. i think it has potential. good luck with yours.

| | Hey 000420, it looks like a cotoneaster to me. I had three of them I was training up a couple of years back, went on holiday, they had all been blown over, pots smashed, roots dried, unsalvagable
I've been meaning to give it a try again. I had a lime tree which was a beauty, and it died for no apparent reason sadly. Haven't had one since that.

Do you really think it's a cotoneaster? I would love to know what this tree is, I'm attaching a better photo of the leaves...also here is some photos since I gave its first pruning since I've taken it home.....I want to buy some moss spores to plant on the top of the soil.I think that would look great. |

| | Yeah, I think it's some kind of cotoneaster, but i'm not a botanist, just an amateur!
With moss, just go find some living out in the wild, like on a brick wall or something, cut it off, put it on the soil in your pot, and if you keep it moist it should take hold really easily

| | I love bonsaid cannabis..... not a fan of growing anything but herbs myself anyways.
I have a 6 month old mother which I still don't consider Bonsai'd, but after each haircut, she's usually about 8-10" tall. |
