Default My Banana Tree is Sad :(

I received a banana tree as a gift a couple weeks ago. Since then i have been watering once about every two or three days but each time i water i give it a couple 16.9oz water bottles full of tap water. The only nutrients it has received are those in the soil that came with it. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but the tree is definitely unhappy... Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hi, I dont know much about banana trees but im willing to try and help out. I think thats pretty cool.

is it in a pot? how old is it? do you know what concentration your nutes are at? What kind of nutrients?

i have banana trees and they get really "saD" every year when i bring them in they look about 100% dead lol i dont think ur plant is "sad" its just growing.

well, as you probably know, no one ever waters ANY plants with tap water. Tap water kills all plants. It must be the nutes or your pH.

i water my plants with tap water? not the weed but the other ones like flowers and my trees and they never die

tap water does not kill all plants most acidophiles prefer low ph water which most tap water is not. some plants like a higher ph. it looks to me as a possible nitrogen problem but i dont grow bananas..

we had banana trees at our last house. their leaves dying back was normal but soon grew new ones fast & they did this at a steady rate, i would remove the dead leaves with a serrated kitchen bread knife. we'd also let them almost dry out before watering them.

harvest the bananas before they ripen on the tree

make sure the soil drains well they don't like standing water which invite mealy bugs
