Default Good Ol' Hydroponic Tomatoes
Hey guys, I recently started a tomato plant in a 5 gallon bucket with a bubble stone at the bottom. Just a basic bubbleponics setup. Just wanted to know if anyone knew the Ph that tomatoes need to be at in a hydro setup. Also what are the nutrient requirements for it? I'm gonna feel stupid if it's the same as my cannabis plants.

I grow tomatoes but not hydro ones, sounds like something I might try. I actually feed my tomatoes tomato food. They mark it as tomato food, I use Miracle Grow brand. As for the NPK of the food, I do not recall...I can check when I get home.

Alright thanks. I actually am feeding them a 1/4 strength soluble plant food I got at a nursery. the npk is 23-18-16 I know these are somepretty damn high values so I'm gonna have to get this plant adjusted very slowly.

I also use a liquid fertilizer called worm poop by terracycle, it works great and is real easy to use but I do not know how well it would work hydro...I know this is pretty much pure N. I also noticed that my bushy vegetables really get thick after applying this but it has to be applied every two weeks. I also use Bone Meal and Blood Meal on the veggy garden NPK is 12-0-0 and 6-9-0, towards the end of the season we hit it up with some Select Plant Food which is 10-10-10. I'm no expert my grandmother taught me and I just use what she showed me...if only she grew the sacred weed...lol

If you get any pictures I would love to see, starting a veggie garden in the winter could be fun for me, I want to see how well you do. I just started pumpkins last year, they are a ton of fun, I logistically speaking the pumpkin would be a difficult hydro...alright enough of my gabbing

lol yeah, I'd love it if my parents/grandparents grew herb. I know they'd be a lot more chilled come tax time. I also use blood and bone meal in my grows. but for hydro I think I'll stick to my soluble stuff for now. I just wish I could find the right Ph..

I use miracle grow also. I also use the miracle grow soiless mix. My plants seem to love it because I never have a problem with them.
