Ive searched several site an asked on another forum im joined to (Bluelight.ru) and i couldn't find a legit answer so im gonna just ask the questions i was looking to get answered.

If i went to my local supermarket and bought a *brand name* package of poppy seeds, can i take those seeds and plant them and get an Opium Poppy Plant that will have an average yield of opium?
Or do the poppy seed companies make the seeds sterile or use processed opium poppies, where they produce little to no opium?

You mean a pack of seeds like from a flower section?

No... usually they have california poppies or oriental poppies.

I know that those seeds used for cooking work well though...usually.

Decent yields if you do it correctly plus plenty of seeds for cheap.

naaa i mean seeds from your local supermarket in the baking goods section....on the spice rack next to the Sesame Seeds and Garlic Powder LOL. The same seeds you put on bagels (before u bake the seeds obviously)

I did a grow, recently at that. Yes, if they are McCormic (I dont think naming the name is a huge deal here, its been said before) they will grow. I cannot attest to other ones though. Im sure they will be fine.

Yield sucked. Period. However, thats not the plants fault. I grew them basically in a hurried fashion without the proper "cabbage" phase. Had I done that or use hydro, then I think yield would be fantastic (coinsidering the size of pods I got, I got a very good yield, but it just sucked if you actually wanted to get high).

Ill be starting up another thread soon about my hydro poppy grow as soon as I get that setup. Poppy growing doesnt seem to attract much attention, but if you have any querstions I will do my best to answer, and hopefully I can put an end to some myths.

I plan on growing my "McCormic" seeds in an indoor/outdoor ethobotanical garden. Ill have them in large pots where i can take them inside if needed. I'm gonna place them right next to my Kratom plant im ordering in May (when my online vendor has them in stock)
