Default do strawberries lose petals on flowers after pollination?
i brushed all the pollen around to every flower and then i noticed once i did the petals came off. does that mean it worked? do you have to do this to tomatos and peppers?

I grow a big garden in the summer and the only thing I have ever had to polinate was corn.

I have a strawberry field and I never polinated it, the damn things just kept on spreading and spreading! I do know that bees need to polinate them in the outdoors. I am not sure if the petals fall off so unfortunately I can't help you out there.

I do know that Tomatos and peppers are self pollinating plants so you do not have to worry pollinating by hand.

Yes they will, because they both self pollinate.

I grow some cherry tomatos indoors and they do just fine. I don't grow any others because tomato plants can get HUGE. So make sure you give them a lot of room to grow and remember to prune them.

Also, don't smoke tobacco around them because it will hurt the plants and could possibly kill them. I made the mistake of making an organic pesticide using loose tobacco mixed with water and it killed almost all of my Tomatos.
