So is that just a huge rockwool cube sitting alone....not planted into anything? How's the setup with that? Does it sit in a tray of water? If not...how do you keep it moist?

I like the idea...I have no room in my bubbler right now. If I can do a stand alone cube that would be nice. And it being square helps utilize space better. Plus I wouldnt have to buy pots/soil...and everything that comes with soil.

Id even do houseplants in it if I could.

Well my flowering basil was just in a 4" by 4" cube and since the spearmint is so small with a little amount of roots, a 4 by 4 should last it until its reached maturity. When i chopped the basil down, the roots were starting to grow out the bottom but it had finished flowering, if i had left it, it probably would have
made seeds but i think it would have stunted its growth. As for watering, i just water every 2 days or so when the leaves start to sag.

I also prefer rockwool to dirt or even clay pebbles. Rockwool doesn't make a mess either like dirt has a tendancy to do or even clay pebbles which make lots of dust. The only problem i see is that rockwool is completely inert so you have to add nutrients yourself or else you see deficiency's quite quickly, right when i started my basil once it started to get its second set of leaves, it got a potassium deficiency so i had to run out and get some ferts, after that though i was fine until the were much bigger and needed some nitrogen and now fertilizing is just a daily thing. Also for my bigger basil plant which is shown in my first post in this thread, it has long out grown a 4 by 4 and is still in rockwool but has its roots growing into a 20" by 6" block, shared with another plant.

Well Im going to order some of the biggest cubes they have at my shop and try growing some bell peppers or herbs in it. Thanks for the scoop, Bacon.

When I get them I'll start a thread here in the garden section to follow my progress.

In addition, reading some of your posts on CFLs in Fdd's thread, i think i should note that they were all done under CFLs. So for these herbs they might work but for the herb, thats a different topic.

i have 3 basil, 3 cilantro and 5 green beans plants (all grown from seed) growing in my clones rooms

I grow herbs with the other herb!
I'm an equal opportunity plant person.

...Um, no Morning Glorys are not poisonous.
But the seeds contain LSA, wich is related too LSD.
So if you take enough of the seeds you trip out

you gota do crazy shit to make LSA from those seeds. and the yeild is terible... better to buy acid I finaly got rid of my morning glorys this year... I hope... they choke everything... there assholes!!!
