Awesome! I love the foresty feel. If my balcony had more light I would have a similar setup. I don't know how large whatever you have planted will get, but it would help the look and feel of the balcony if you look into those planters that hang on the guardrail. If you have them spanned across and have larger plants/trees in the corners it looks great!

Thanx! You could try growing plants that do well in partial shade. I don't know what to recommend other than Catnip, but I'm sure there are plenty of plants that would work. I plan on doing some planters with flowers on the rail next year. This was my first year gardening ever. The plants I have now will be staying in the containers they are in so I don't think they will get too much larger. I would like to try to put a mini fruit tree out there next year.

Default Last Pic. of 2008:(
Well the season of plants is coming to a close so I thought I'd give one last shot of the balcony garden. So long until next year.

Default Peas & Mint are still growing?
Hi All...somehow even though it's been cloudy & in the 20s & 30s lately I have peas & a mint plant on the balcony that are still growing...amazingly the mint looks really healthy. There are even unripe tomatoes on my dying tomatoe plant. Weird stuff I tell ya.
