Okie So here's the Deal ... im still messing around with my first grow (CFL closet grow)trying to get the hang of it, understanding what i need to improve / add / decrease etc..one of the stuff obviously of great importance is LIGHT .so i made up a basic light fixture that can hold up to 3 CFL sockets (can use Y brackets to add more CFL's)i have no idea if its any good as light reflector , but it made out from white card board i think it should be worth something, altho u can always paint it white.U SHOULD KNOW HOW TO WIRE UP A SOCKET , if u dont , dont bother reading.ALSO , i realise not everyone knows how to do a moving knot (u will c later on) , but u can work around itjust figure it out for urselves , this is what workes best for me .so heres the deal , u will need :1 shoe box (white in the inside , or just paint it white)3 CFL socket1 electric wire clips column (the clips that can join two seperate electric wires , with two screws , can see in the picture that white column with the wires)2m-1m electric wire1 ac electric wire1 super glue1 shoe laceflat screwdriver (normal size)cutting knifewire up the CFL sockets , i wont explain it here , if u dont know how to do itthan its best u dont mess around with electricity.u take the shoe box , measure its width and length . mark up on the outside of the box a basic3 points, according to your measurements , so ull evantually have a 3 equale sided trianglein the middle of the box.at my box , each side of the triangle was equales to about 12cm .to find out the middle of the length, u take ur (length - size of the triangle side) / 2u do the same for ur width , and ull end up with a trianglethats about the middle of the box.so now u take the screwdriver and hammer it on each of the tips , making a small a hole at the tiptake ur cutting knife and make a small cut , about 1cm . now take your pre wired CFL socket and shove it in with force. glue that shit up .do the same for all 3 CFL sockets , and wire those to the electric clip .wire also the ac cable to the electric clip.now mark the point of the middle of the box, take the screwdriver and make another hole .insert the shoe lace , tie a knot so that the lace cant escape the hole .now make a moving knot on the shoe lace, (the side of the knot that tightens the KNOT is the one that goes into the box) - its a knot that moves around the rope allowing u to short and lengthten your rope.now hang the other side of the shoe lace (the side that allowes u to shorten the lace ) to what ever u want and adjust the height .see pictures for exampledamn , cant arrange the text , cant load the pics , cant delete the thread .

DIY: Power supply / computer fan hack

Are you looking for a good way to create airflow in and out of your box that is relatively small in size? Well computer case fans are a great...

Are you looking for a good way to create airflow in and out of your box that is relatively small in size? Well computer case fans are a great solution and they are relatively cheap. Here is a good way to use computer fans without having to have a whole computer to plug them in.

First you will need a computer Power Supply. One from a really old computer you don't use anymore is good and free if you have one. If not they are relatively inexpensive. The thing about power supplies though is that normally they don't work unless plugged into a motherboard on a computer. What I am doing here is making the power supply operate without being connected to a computer, so essentially it is a 200 watt power source I can use.

What you will need:

Scissors, Electrical tape, computer fan, power supply, paper clip, and power supply cord

First: Look at the 20+4 connection and look for the green wire and which small cube it connects to. There is only one connected.

Second: Bend the paperclip (I cut mine shorter to reduce how far it sticks out. The length I cut and bent my paperclip was just right to barely even come off the top.

Third: Insert one end of the paper clip into the connection cube for the green wire. Put the other end in a black wire that is next to the green wire

Fourth: Tape over the paper clip, then around the connector to make sure you can't touch anything on it, so you don't electrocute yourself if you ever need to touch it

Fifth: Plug in your computer fan to the power supply

Sixth: Plug in the power supply cord and flip the switch in the back (if there is one) to On. Your fan should start spinning! Depending on the power supply you can have a lot of power connection to hook up multiple fans. And if you need to lengthen the wires to place fans you can cut the red and black wires and add more wire if you want to give you more range on where you can put it. I am not sure of the gauge on the wire for most computer fans but I'm sure it isn't hard to find.

I have tried it on beer bottles, and it works (and is a lot of fun!). I plan on making the glass cylinder for a cooltube I will be building and will let you guys know how it turns out. All the other hurricane glass they had at Michael's was too small or oddly shaped. This method allows me to use a much cheaper and perfect sized vase and just slice the bottom off. Wish me luck!

so I built this DIY cloner today, ill keep this thread updated and let you know how well it works with multiple clones, I have done this before just have to make sure the stem stays in pure fog for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off.
this type of fogger does heat up the water to 80 Deg. after being on for 15 minutes. Then cools down to 72 Deg. after off for 15 minutes.
I think putting these foggers on a 15 minute timer is the only way to use them.
but pretty cool huh, the fog is a good mix of air and moister. I did this once before and got root bumps in 3 days. this time I wanted to document it.

I know there are a ton of DIY cloner Tuts here but I

since i got the good deal on the pump and already had the net cups and inserts my cost was $25. if you have to buy the net cups and neoprene inserts that should only add about $10 to the price.

Items Needed:
1 x 5 gal bucket
1 x 5 gal bucket lid
2” net cups (optional but recommended to hold the neoprene inserts)
2” Neoprene Ez Clone inserts
1 X Water Pump (I’m using NGW EcoPLus 633 gph Submersible Pump - picked up at home depot on sale/clearance for $20)
3 x 90º ½” threaded pvc elbows
3 x 2” ½” threaded PVC nipples
2 x 4” ½” threaded PVC nipples
2 x ½” threaded PVC caps
Timer (optional - i ran 15 minutes on/15 mins off, but you can also run 24 hours if you like)

I drilled 8 - 2” holes in the lid with a drill mounted hole saw.
You can use regular non threaded pvc parts and glue the together but I chose the threaded pieces for ease of breakdown for cleaning, and i dont like the idea of pvc glue mixing with my water.
The nice thing about the NGW pump is that it has a ½” threaded port on the top which makes for easy attachment of the sprayer assembly.
Assemble pvc parts into an E shape with the 4” lengths on the outside and the 2” section forming the T, and the middle section connected to a 2" nipple and threaded 90º which connects to the top of the pump.

Drill a row of holes in the top of each tube. (for my first incarnation I just drilled 6 holes in the top. 2 on each side. Next time I might drill more holes just smaller) the holes I drilled were approx 6mm in diameter.
Cap the ends.
I had roots beginning to form in 48 hours, and was able to transplant after 1 week. All of my clones are thriving and doing wonderful.
