But instead of using ice water, I decided to use 99% Iso Alcohol....Poured the alcohol through my bags and got hardly any hash out of it in any of the bags, maybe half a gram out of like 10 grams of small buds. I though that was weird so I looked at the alcohol that had ran through even my smallest screen bag and sure enough if was a tan color..Hell yea, So i put that alcohol in a pyrex dish and evaporated it off, and wound up with what looks like some really god hash. i also had a bunch of black sticky resin stuff stuck to my smallest extraction bag so i poured alochol over that to get it off, put it into another glass dish and evaporated that off. My question is, is this stuff ready to smoke, I mean is all the alcohol gone. I didn't scrape it until I noticed no more iSO smell, but the stuff is just sticky as fuck for hash. I mean, these black gobs are like some kind of oil/pipe resin mix interms of consistency. I mean, its just stick to the bottom of these little plastic jars. Ok, so I currently purchased a BHO extractor, and am in the process of selectively purchasing a vacuum desiccator, vacuum pump, and the gauges and hoses that are necessary to successfully purge BHO. My question to all the ganja gods out there is about the vacuum pump itself. There are many different measures on the pump; i.e., cfm; microns; PA; etc. I'm curious because I've heard so many different things from so many different people, what is really necessary to successfully purge BHO through a vacuum pump? As far as I'm concerned I found this pump; ( http://www.amazon.com/Robinair-15115...pd_sbs_auto_11 ) but wasn't sure if it would pull terpens out of my BHO. Also if this pump is ok to run on my desiccator, is there a way to control the amount of microns im putting into the desiccator or will the pump always run to ultimate vacuum? The Robinair 15115, runs to 100 microns, is that where I want to purge to? Or am I just watching the gauge and keeping an eye on the gauge till it reaches -29mHg? ounce of good small bud and shake, and about a gram or so of kif
mason jar
everclear
and a coffee filter or maybe a good micron screen from my bubble bags for filtering


I found a cold method where they decarboxilate the material and then place it into a mason jar still warm, then freeze.(ALSO puts everclear in freezer)

take frozen bud and pour the cold everclear into the jar untill it covers the bud about an inch, shake lightly a few times then refreeze

wait 3 minutes then take it out and shake, then strain through metal strainer and some sort of filter

then you can evaporate off the alcohol




MY QUESTIONS:

which method do you feel gives the best results cold, warm, or hot method?

if i choose to do the cold method should i decarboxilate first or after i get my final product or does it even matter?
