Since the pH in my water is really terrible I thought I'd drain a gallon at a time and replace it with balanced pH water a gallon at a time. Do 2-3 gallons. It's really easy with the drain thingy attached and the reservoir raised 6 inches. I just put a plastic bowl under and drain out about 3/4 a gallon at a time.

I checked my tap water. I have to let the pH meter sit for a good 3-4 minutes to finally come to a stop. My water is terrible. The pH is 9.13

Man that seems high, but I did calibrate the meter before I checked it. And I'm making iced tea with this water - yuck.

Still asking noob questions going on 3 weeks, but here goes. Are my roots established enough to remove the irrigation hub and remove the feeder tubes?

The one runt's roots have not hit the water yet, I am very surprised it is still growing OK w/ the larger amount of nutes being put in for the bigger plants. I am not so sure how the little one is going to turn out, I may just have to remove it

I am hesitant to "top" my plants or do any cutting of any sort. Roseman you advised that some topping might be in order, but I am afraid to cut it to not damage anything I am not sure where to start.

These are actually the "worst" set of roots, I tried to get it to show in the picture but it is not all that clear. The very top part of most of the roots in the picture is blackish in color, it appears to be rotting just there which is a little worrisome. I was thinking it was because I still have the feeder tubes running, should I cut that off asap?



They are not really that color, that are a bit stained from the liquid karma and nutes though I think, but no rot, they are mostly white.

hey peteman the water i pulled out of my ressi was greenish color with looks like slim floating around. So sm-90 is the thing to get? Were do i purchase saome at a good price? I also noticed the water i pulled had a old aquarium smell like stagnet water or somthing. You no what i didnt have slim or green water 1 day ago, actually it started since i put in hydrogyme yesterday. Maybe that was my problem.

I'd like to add one more WTF to the mix, and I really mean what the f***, some sort of foreign alien organism? Just looking at it makes me want to... smoke weed. Really though, WTF?!

Look at those GROWTHS on the roots, greenish color, very very icky looking. There's no way that can be normal LOL, it just doesn't look right. On my monster plant too, maybe it's all part of the plan. What is it?!

What the hell is it? I cant even compare cause my plants are only 2 weeks old no long roots yet. WTF its always somthing huh. Maybe Rosman can help you or mostlycrazy,purpdaddy. New water and i have foam build up around the edges is that normal?

Hm..... I hear sooo many good things about Hygrozyme, it's the one additive you need, even says on the bottle it works miracles,etc. LOL. I think that slimy stuff you got there started for me too after using Hygrozyme. SM-90 is a fungicide, kills algae, bug larvae, mold, rids root rot and can also be used as a spray to kill anything nasty that may grow on your leaves. Good stuff has worked wonders for me, but has a short shelf like I think only like 1 year. I buy everything from Amazon, usually find the best prices there.

EDIT: Don't worry so much about the foam I don't think, do the best you can to keep your temps low as they can go w/ frozen bottles, etc. but don't beat yourself up about it. You can only get it so low. Ideally, I think hygrozyme is meant to be used throughout the whole plants life cycle straight from the first time you add water to close to end before you flush. It is a preventative as it colonizes good bacteria on the root zone so bad bacteria can't come in and try to rot your roots. If you already have problems, which I think you do, SM-90 should get rid of it.

If a female plant gets polonized will she not produce buds or will they just not be as dank and have seeds in them?

Also is it possible for seeds to go bad? Cuz im thinking for my first grow i would just let the male and females grow together and pollinate so i can just get a bunch of seeds and save them so i don't have to worry about countinuously trying to find good seeds, and i would be able to just keep on popping out females for many harvests to come.

And is there anyway to tell the difference from a male and female seed
