I got an aircooled reflector. I was checking out the cooltubes, I wanted one to, I dunno why I didnt just get it. I just got everything hooked up and started 12/12 a few hrs ago! Im gonna flush out the system first thing in the morning and change to bloom nutes.

yea when the plants get bigger,makes it more top heavy and then you got a big ball of roots that you gotta be careful withso yea it does get a lil more difficult...get a long hose sort of like a garden hosecut to a foot or two and connect it to the pump inside the rez to drain the water.

Do your roots get caught inside the water pump? I keep ripping them out of there. Would that mess them up in anyway?

They naturally get black spots and darken, but SOAKING is not as necesary as RINSING. Get a collander, or giant strainer and rinse and rinse and rinse, until the run-off water is clear.

They also shrunk up a whole lot too a lot of little pebbles now... i'm not sure if ive washed them too much or not enough the water that comes out is still opaque, should i wash till water is crystal clear, i figure that brown stuff on the rocks gotta be good for somethin they'd be all black betime the water was that clear.. Or should I not even be worrying about this... lol

I think he meant he sliced it in half, like the radius of a circle, but still had the two halves connected. Like opening a book, half way, then stick the seed in and close the book back.


Seems like it would be easier for the water to hit and roots and all, but should that be done to my system before the seeds are planted too or only if problem occurs?

EDIT: Do i turn the water AND air pump on when i place my seed in the rockwool cube to germ? I was about to start it this way, but just read on another forum NOT to turn the pump on during germination.. I'm confused and I can't find that old page that said how to do this?? Do I want the air stone running during germ too?

Yes, When you START, you START everything, YES you start the air pump and the water pump too. The water pump is going to keep the cube-seed wet.

Was going to put the seeds in the cubes and start germ tonight, but i'm going to wait till I get my 2nd air stone. Where can I find one of those T splitters for the air pump, i'm hoping WalMart where I found the airstone?

So would you agree that leaving it alone for the time being it is ok, and then at the first signs of roots I should then start with frozen bottles to keep the temp down in the low 70F's?
