yes I think that may be the case here but yield to me really isn't all that important and IF the LED even come close to comparison I'll probably drop the HID id hot months but get right back to the 1 kw when temps are easier/cheaper to control.

At this time though I have damn near the same actual wattage of LED as I do HID in comparison, I started the grow with two 500 watt panels but just recently put another in the tent under the plants pointing upwards( got tired of trimming the bottoms where there was NO light penetration). In the future I'll be running 300- 600 watts of HID along with the LED. although I did want to do one grow in hydro using nothing but LED. Next run I may set up the ebb monster with 4 buckets in the room with HID and a couple in the tent under the same two LED panels.

i will say it did very well vegging.i still think they have a way to go yet but i hope they get them there as i have a hard time dealing with heat as well .

speaking of heat, I just bought a used wort chiller of some kind, , I'll be taking it out of the small cooler its in and placing that in as big a tote of water as I can fit in the chest freezer I also bought from dude. I may or may not add another wort chiller depending on if I need it OR the freezer is capable of supplementing the actual water chiller. If it turns out the freezer with the tote of salt water does have the ability to cool even more I'll probably run another wort chiller in it to do the hydro res.

That's the funny thing with my new room the res stay's a nice steady 75 degrees when the temp at plant top is hitting mid 80's think the key is i got my air pump on floor sucking cold air.

I'm basically cooling a room and a 1kw light with water, not doing a very good job of it atm . that's why I bought the coil of tubing up above and the freezer. I'm running a 8 inch hydro innovations icebox on the light, it does a great job cooling the light and the room for about 3/4 of the day, after that water temperatures that started at 37 or so ( chilling roughly 35 gallons of water in an igloo cooler with a hydrofarm 1/2 hp chiller) are up over 60 and by the end of the 12 hour cycle 70 degrees. This has left me leaving the door open at nite and some windows open in the next room, hopefully when it comes time for the AC to run in the house that will help a bit, until then I'm gonna chill this water as much as I can possibly chill it.

believe me i know your pain!i have the heat on a night been dropping in 30's here then have to run the damn ac during the day. surprising just how much heat these lights put off.i got a thousand watter but there's no way in hell i can run it at my current location.having hard enough time with this 400 watt cool tube

less water stronger pump maybe im no expert at water cooling, also shooting the air at a wall will help disperse the heat from the air into the wall(to an extent or a least till the suface temps of the wall rise mines a concrete wall underground in a basement so it does a hell of a job for me)
