I think I'm going to build my own Induction light. Just buy the bulb and ballast and make a hood at work. I work with reflector stock all day. We make light boxes. I should be able to save $300 to $400 per light that way.

I'm done with diy. not many induction lights hitting craigs yet but I passed on one I found there.

The lights I've seen just haven't impressed me, they just don't seem bright enough for shit, I know its not ALL about lumens but these things aren't bright. plasma is gonna be the shit I think. not yet but soon.

These cheap ass LED seem to be doing well for me, haven't flipped yet though, they're specialty is suppose to be flower but the dude I bought them from said he liked them in veg.

Induction light run very cool. plasma on the other hand runs very hot. My train of thought was that since the lights run cooler I could hang them closer to the plants without burn and keep the room temp down. I would have to run two or three lights to cover the same space because they would be closer and not spreading the light as far but they use about half the power for almost the same lumens so power consumption is about the same. Bulbs last 10 years. A great thing if they produce the same or better results as HPS.

well, I can certainly understand your concern with room temps. I suppose what the hell, I'm in! next 1200 bux I have to toss I'll get me that 600 watt and toss it in the 4 by 4 tent.

How often do you all change your MH or HPS bulb?
