Flushing with PH down (battery acid) or plain water ?

Ok, I'll be starting my flush in about 8 days. I have heard you should still ph your water when you flush. My DWC system uses sulfuric acid as PH down. I was unsure if I should use this during the flush or just use plain tap water? My tap has a ph of 7.6 :-?

Thanks for your help!

I have heard of people using battery acid as PH down but if you add water to the acid it explodes I guess you have to add Acid to water. I only seen one grower use it and he was on a budget. Be careful dude. Oh yeah and just use plain R/O water or a flushing agent with R/O water just about every nute company makes one.

I would ph it, No problem with sulfuric/battery acid as long as its new, Been using it for 40 years and so do alot of growers, It doesn't take much and yes you add acid to water not the other way around.

is there an advantage in using sulfuric acid instead of phosphoric acid?
or is it just an availability thing

Sulfuric acid is very inexpensive and can be purchased in very high % concentrates readily. Whereas buying a quart of 15% Phosphoric acid with a fancy label will run you 12-15$.

I'd flush with just RO, or RO + any type of sugar. Because that's all those fancy labeled "flushing agents" are. If you have microfauna in your rez/roots, they will eat excess nutrients when excited by sugar.
